Stone Family Center for Health Sciences

Our team was selected as the developer for this multi-institutional academic health science and research facility. This LEED® Gold Certified four-story 140,570 SF facility houses the medical education curriculum for Indiana University, the University of Evansville, and the University of Southern Indiana. A simulation center, wet lab, dental clinic, amphitheater, clinical research area, teaching classrooms, offices, and surface parking were included in the project.
The facility creates a community connection and supports outreach programs critical to the development of healthcare professionals. The facility also provides convenient access to resources such as conference, banquet, and exhibit facilities.
The Stone Family Center for Health Sciences has established both the identity for this new collaborative enterprise and potentially serves as the hub for the future Medical Innovation and Research District in Evansville with the intent to create an appropriately forward-looking, yet contextual facility that becomes a prominent vibrant addition to the city. Developing a facility that is integrated with the city by creating an internal and externally connected and collaborative community is the key design objective, with an emphasis on providing a warm and welcoming home for medical students and health care professionals.
