Project Scheduling, Cost and Progress Reporting

Sterling Industrial, LLC. (SBM) strives to complete every project safely, on time, and within budget. A construction schedule along with a well-developed execution plan is the foundation of all project activities.

When it comes to construction management, maintaining a construction project schedule is one of the most important part of a project. A well-developed schedule helps the contractor and owner minimize downtime by working more effectively and efficiently. Developing a project schedule allows the contractor and owner to spot interference points, coordinate resources, and monitor progress throughout the project to ensure completion on-time and on-budget.

Sterling Industrial, LLC. (SBM) currently uses Oracle Primavera Project Management P6 to develop our project schedules. SBM also has experience in using Primavera Project Planner P3, P5, and Microsoft Project scheduling software. Oracle Primavera Project Management P6 is the industry standard scheduling software that has a wide range of reporting options, easily exports to Microsoft Excel for data extrapolation into charting and graphing and allows for managing resources. Our project schedules are generally resource loaded and updated on a weekly basis, however more frequent updates are warranted if the project or client requires increased attention due to accelerated schedule or during an outage.

Examples of our project scheduling and tracking capabilities are attached for your review. We continue to stay current with the latest industry standards through software updates as well as personnel training.

It must be remembered that project planning and scheduling is an ongoing process requiring continuing communication among all parties to the scope of work or project, and periodic updates to incorporate changing circumstances. The project schedule is a powerful management tool and when used correctly, and as part of a team effort, scheduling has been shown to result in increased productivity, fewer mistakes, lower costs, fewer on-site emergencies, more time for the actual supervision of work, improved relationships among all parties involved in the project, and higher profits/cost savings.
